New Movie Sets on Orchard Street
Possibly related to the sets in the East Village for upcoming crime thriller 'Caught Stealing'.
Your eyes are not deceiving you, these are actual movie sets currently installed on storefronts in streets throughout the Lower East Side and East Village right now!
The film is clearly set in some 20th century version of NYC, as there's faux haberdasheries, hosieries, and knitwear stores. One building has a massive "NORKIN SHOES" neon sign turned on at night. According to Google, neon signs were a type of innovative advertising technology in the 20s and 30s, so the movie is set at least from then. I personally like the entire façade that’s been reconstructed in front of the hotel (?) at 139 Orchard to make it blend in with the rest of the street.
The shots I got are from Orchard between Delancey and Rivington, I highly recommend to check them out before filming starts on October 2nd.

Anyone got a clue about what's being filmed? I'm not sure this is related to the 'Caught Stealing' movie (starring Austin Butler) that's taken over a good chunk of the East Village recently.
