'Mighty Lucky', The LES's Second Ever Legal Dispensary, Opens Today on the Bowery
After a soft launch lasting several weeks, the store is hosting an opening party from 5-8pm today, May 9th.
Congrats to Beau Alluli, founder and owner of Mighty Lucky, who today opens the Bowery's very first (licensed) cannabis dispensary. After a soft launch lasting several weeks, the store is hosting an opening party from 5-8pm today, May 9th.
Given what we've come to expect weed stores in the Lower East Side to look and feel like, Mighty Lucky could not be more different. Meant to evoke the feeling of relaxing at a friend's living room, the warm lighting, plants, and casual atmosphere is not only starkly different from the tacky lit bootleg zaza retailers scattered around the Lower East Side, but also a complete 180 from Conbud's tough-guy persona.
The store sells flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, edibles, tinctures. Do not ask me what any of those mean, I'm no expert. Luckily for you, Beau is as knowledgeable about his product as he is approachable. You can ask him tomorrow at 5! Look for the he following friendly neighborhood vendors will be there too:
Flash Tattoos by Gerald Feliciano of Alley Cat Tattoos
Tarot Card Readings by Brooke Shapiro
Beer + Wine provided by Bowery & Vine
Music by Brass Band: High & Mighty!
Mighty Lucky opens at 11am every day and till 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Look for 259 Bowery underneath the scaffolding.

Before Mighty Lucky, the storefront had been occupied by Joco, one of those rental bike businesses that look like mafia fronts. There was Soho Contemporary Art before that, then Pull-in around 2008, and a Satellite Records in 2007, according to StreetView. Really sad to see two tenement buildings replaced by new buildings here, one right to the south of Mighty Lucky and another two storefronts north.
Happy Thursday!
