Introducing Sunn's, a New, Cozy Korean (Micro) Restaurant on Division Street
Every three months God picks a storefront on Division and a new culinary destination appears.
EDIT 1/21 11:17PM: I accidentally posted this story 2 days early… The perks of following on Substack! Thank you so much for reading!
This time, it's Sunn's turn - a cozy Korean-American wine and banchan bar that opened in December.
The space is intimate - seating only for 24 diners at any given time here makes the reservation game trickier than most. Some luck will be involved in getting a seat at this heralded former pop-up by Sunny Lee, the chef behind the project (formerly of Blue Hill and Insa) who's finally given her passion project the brick and mortar space it deserves after about 10 years of on and off activity.
Sunn's opened on New Years Day and along with a full Korean (seasonal) menu offers a curated Parcelle (who's right next door) wine list, along with Korean rice wine and lager. During off-peak hours it seems they'll be selling takeout kimchi kits and brand merchandise, some apparently designed by Sunny's husband himself.

Sunn's is replacing Pig Bar, which was Parcelle's own beer shop for around a year? Honestly, I'd never even heard of the place.
Best of luck to Sunny! See you there soon.
And sorry for the bad picture. It's either a night picture when it's open with a bad camera or a day picture when it's closed. Third picture will give you a sense of how cozy it might feel these days.
