The East Village gnocchi specialists (@gnocchinyc)have opened up an outpost in the Lower East Side, selecting a cozy spot on Orchard between Stanton & Rivington.
The pasta parlor is known for its casual $10 gnocchi meals that customers carry out in Chinese takeout-style containers. I haven't tried yet but I like the concept.
Gnocchi on 9th replaces Omelettos, who, you guessed it, sold omelets. They must not have lasted long because there was no sign of them on StreetView. Among dozens of clearly AI generated posts, Omelettos had one post hinting at moving to "the other side of the river."
For some context, the original, East Village Gnocchi on 9th hasn’t even been there that long. They only opened in April, making both locations less than 2 months old.
The space was formerly Hemp Garden, specializing in CBD products, and it was a jewelry store before that, and a salon before that.
